Infants and young children should meet all the recommendations for physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and sleep in a 24-hour period to reap the greatest health benefits. Replacing sedentary or restricted screen time with more moderate-to vigorous-intensity physical activity while still getting enough sleep can provide additional health benefits.

For infants (less than one year)
Be physically active several times a day, preferably through interactive floor-based play. This includes at least 30 minutes in a prone position (tummy time) throughout the day while awake for those who are not yet mobile.

For toddlers (1 to 2 years of age)
Spend at least 180 minutes spread throughout the day in a variety of physical activities of varying intensity, including moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity.

For children (3 to 4 years of age)
Spend at least 180 minutes daily in various physical activities of varying intensities, with at least 60 minutes of moderate-to vigorous-intensity physical activity spread throughout the day.
